koreans have an attitude problem with arrogance but this isn't it. I think this is just a joke, a prank. I feel their joy. It's fun when you sprinkle water on people and pretend you're innocent. I don't know about america, but here in australia, I wouldn't go around talking about my favourite anime character and tell people to call me ___-chan. I used to watch anime. It can be fun to watch, but it's not good to be addicted to that stuff to the extent you allow people to call you anime names
