How long does it take for a debt to "die"?

As stated, it comes off your credit files 7 years 180 days. But they can call you forever to try to collect the debt. They just can not take you to court. If you do not want any calls, just send a cease and desist letter, 1 regular 1 certified. Do not sign your name, just type it and make a copy.
