Why does it seem that people these days only cares about celebrities and not what is happning around the world?

i see all these news line and tv about celebs like the Cris brown and Rhianna and i think to my self i dont really care all i care is about my family and me and politics (that does matter to me because it effects me) the president does matter to me because he's in charge of the army that protects me!!!! and what happens around the world like the war on tv i see all these Paparazzi chasing people i really don't care about in stead of wasting that fill on people that wont make a difference to me use it on something that will matter to people !!!!
